This page lists links to general resources that our literacy and history teachers find useful. Unless indicated, the basic versions of these resources are free for classroom use.
Technology Resources
For all students enrolled in the 9th - 12th grades for the 2017-2018 school year, Echo is how much of our content will be delivered, how objectives will be communicated, how assignments will be submitted, and where day-to-day grades will be posted. Parents are encouraged to contact the high school for parent access to Echo.

Students love Edmodo because it looks a lot like Facebook. Teachers love Edmodo because it provides a place to host discussion board questions, polls, and quizzes in a variety of formats including multiple choice. Edmodo grades multiple choice quizzes for you, and students can get immediate feedback. Teachers can view overall data as well as data for individual questions.

Today's Meet is an online chatroom that can function in a variety of ways in the classroom, including to fishbowl activities, to allow students the opportunity to ask questions calling attention to themselves by stopping class, and to hold class discussions.

Turnitin provides instructors with the tools to engage students in the writing process, provide personalized feedback, and assess student progress over time. The online tools checks student papers for plagiarism against websites and other student submissions. Turnitin is used by more than 30 million students at 15,000 institutions in 150 countries.

Weebly can be used to make teacher websites, but can also be used to create students accounts for projects. Here is an example of a class project that Geo-Lit students created during the 2013-2014 school year using Weebly.

Blytheville High School New Tech subscribes to the online Write Source program, which in addition to having a variety of teaching resources available for quick reference, also has games, videos, and online quizzes that help students master grammar and become more proficient writers.

The Achieve organization is one of the developers of the Common Core State Standards.

Newsletters, files, frameworks, licensure, and links to everything .

ASCD develops a variety of types of Professional Development, including online PD; they also publish some of the foremost books on education (for example The Art and Science of Teaching by Robert Marzano), and the Educational Leadership journal. ASCD also has Common Core information and resources here.

The College Board AP Central website contains information about the courses, the exams, sample syllabi and more. Don't forget to sign up for the discussion group for your content area!

In addition to the standards, you will find links to the appendices and other resources.

Featuring John Green, the Crash Course youtube videos provide a wealth of information on all sorts of educational topics from literature to U.S. and world history to psychology and biology.

ACT Aspire maps learner progress from grades three through high school on a vertical scale, anchored to the scoring system of the ACT. The ACT Aspire assessments will be administered to our students in the Spring. This website contains sample tests as well as released practice tests and the newest news on the upcoming state assessments.

Arkansas Council for the Social Studies Shelf contains resources for social studies courses that are aligned with the new Arkansas State Standards, including the standards, course outlines, units, and lessons.
